For all my blogging last year about KKR, I'm a novice in cricket. Okay, honestly? I took an interest in cricket after Shah Rukh acquired a team for T20. I have absolutely zilch knowledge in the game. I tried to watch a cricket match when I managed to catch a tournament on cable in a hotel this one time last year, and I spent quite long minutes staring blankly at the screen, and in the end mumbled... what the heck is so exciting about this sport?? (forgive my ignorance, all cricket fans out there.. *sweat*)
And yet I continue to take an interest in it coz Shah Rukh still remains in T20. Hey, some love affairs begin like that. I fell in love with tennis after watching Sampras and his near-robotic sure-win play in Wimbledon. Even tried to play it, albeit goofily, with a friend. Also, my current univ seems to have a good cricket team and our VC takes quite an interest in it..posting about tournament updates every once in awhile in facebook. I'm still hoping I'll understand the game one day..soon. Esp now that Lalit Modi has promised us a free watch on youtube.
What gets on my nerves while I was watching cricket is.. there seems to be this "endless waiting for something that I don't know what" time. It's like watching baseball but with more players loitering around doing nothing. I'm more used to football-type sports where, even if you have nothing to do, you'll run around to make it seem to your fans/sponsors/teammates/coaches/team owners as if you're doing a worthwhile activity even though the ball rarely comes at you. I'm always cheering.. screaming.. mumbling.. jolted into silent vigorous hand-movement actions when the unexpected happens like every 2 minutes. With cricket, I keep staring and staring.. and staring some more. And then suddenly there's a cheer from the crowd and I'm like.. what? what? what just happened??
Anyway, I'm happy that there's no frivolous antics from my favourite cricket owner this year. No video. No crazy last minute announcement (although this can still happen, knowing Shah Rukh). No reality TV show. No incessant team promotion via numerous ads. Just some simple updates about how the team is doing. And I was like.. yes, that's the way to do it! please don't say anything explosive this year! just let the team do the talking during the championship. THEN!! ...
That auction fiasco had to happen. And Shah Rukh of course had to say something about it. When I clicked open that NDTV Q&A show and saw the video title.. I groaned aloud.. Nooooooo! Then I read that PZ and SS did a joint press conference to 'clarify' the issue. Arrrrgh! When will these celebs learn that nothing..absolutely nothing..they say will appease anybody or everybody. By trying to 'clarify'.. they'll just dig a deeper hole for themselves to be buried in later. Have you read any press statement on the issue by India Cements? Or Deccan Chronicle? Mmm.. you don't know who they are? Here.
There's no use trying to clarify an issue that can't be clarified. But I like the way Shah Rukh answered the query without answering it. He's brilliant at this PR stuff. Every time I watch him asks, "Am I gonna get into trouble for saying this?" ..I tell my computer monitor, "Yes Shah Rukh, you will. So please don't say it~" ..but of course he ignores me and says it anyway. To those who think he should "do something about it".. I suggest you grow up a little. It's too easy to see why a guy who's invested around 80 crores a year on a team out of his own pocket would be cautious in his financial endeavor. KKR faced this kind of problem before when, in 2009, Pakistani players were unavailable..resulting in Umar Gul's contract being suspended. Face it people.. this is not a knee-jerk reaction. It's a reaction based on a previous experience, so the owners are not to be entirely blamed.
Instead, why don't you blame the guys (it's always guys, isn't it?) who burned Lalit Modi's effigy? Or those who burned Mr. B's effigy.. and even Shah Rukh's posters in 2009? Or the gunmen who shot Sri Lankan cricketers in Lahore (also in 2009)? With fire-happy/trigger-happy guys like you running amok and uncheck by any authority.. who would dare to bring Pakistani players to India or vice versa? Lalit Modi made IPL happen in South Africa last year despite the risk of heavy losses, mainly because of security issues. And now people are nonchalantly suggesting that the security of the players and the tournament should not be made into an issue. Delusional much?
Some people are asking, "why didn't the IPL committee tell the Pakistani players that they're not gonna be bought in the auction anyway, so there's no use in participating?" I'm speechless reading this. Do people think first before giving suggestions like this or they just like to pull crap outta their asses in the hope of provoking some suckers out there into responding so they can get into a net brawl coz they're too bored with their mundane life and need some virtual action? Can't you fathom the kind of uproar that kind of announcement will set off? Can't you fathom a world beyond your own nose?
In my opinion, Shah Rukh doesn't need to say anything. But I also think he has no way of escaping from being made to say something. I guess I'll just continue to be the somewhat silent reader/watcher of the whole drama that IPL never ceases to be year by year. This is, after all, the country that gives us Bollywood. Hopefully the team I support will not be affected by anything the team owner adamantly gets himself embroiled into (I can hope, can't I?) and give us a roaring game this year. If Deccan could do it, why can't KKR? (that's my constant mantra for the 2010 championship coz I'm an eternal optimist).
It's nearly 4am, and I have work to do and a persistent father to attend to tomorrow. Have a good week!

If this guy still serves as coach for IPL 3, I will abandon my allegiance to KKR
...or at least follow it suspiciously in the beginning and hope for the best without being as enthusiastic as I was this year.
I may be ignorant on all things cricket and I don't subscribe to the seven-point theory, but it doesn't take a cricket genius to figure out that KKR is at the lowest position with only 7 more matches to go. Forget the semis, right now my prayer for them is that they don't end up at the bottom rung by the time IPL 2 is over.
Hey, I'm a SRK fan but like I wrote before... I don't support a losing team. I don't think Buchanan is ever gonna let them take the trophy back home and if Shah Rukh doesn't realise that soon, he has no business keeping a team that's only gonna bleed him dry, emotionally if not financially.
Mr B may have awesome credentials, but I want to throw SRK's words spoken to Gavaskar at him (I've modified it to suit the occasion - source): "I respect Mr B - his knowledge about cricket is a billion times better than me. But this is an era where Mr B has not indulged in."
He even says something to this effect on an interview: "The intensity of it is higher than any one-day or Test series I have been involved in."
And what in the world did Mr B mean by this one?? "“We didn’t finish on the right side, but the game has been the winner... The outcome will help lift the tournament."
I intensely dislike someone who can't admit he's wrong, goes forward with his proven-to-be-a-failure strategy and in the process, drags everyone down with him. On that note, why must McCullum wait until the whole schedule is over to get the idea that they'll never make it to the semis? Why can't he save the team from being 8th by giving up the captaincy now? I'm not a a Dada fan, and the reports I read of his performance in IPL 2 has not succeeded in making me one. I don't care who'll be the new captain but I hope he'll serve the team better than McCullum has so far.
I still want to know more about cricket. I just found out that my univ has a cricket team (this after studying there for years). I'm intrigued with all the numbers being thrown around in comments and articles... sixers and fours, decimals in overs, +ve and -ve in net run rate, etc. Look up this answer and tell me that the numbers are not turning you on. It sounds like a really compelling game. I'm quite pissed that no one has ever tried to sell this game to me when I was at school.
So yeah, I hope I'm gonna be eating, drinking, and talking cricket come next year. But I've never been in favour of supporting a personality when a game is at stake. Especially if the personality is the owner, and not one of the players.
Not being Indian and certainly not a Kolkatan, forgive me for not caring that the team may move to Ahmedabad due to some money-grabbing officials. I just want the team I'm investing my time and mental/emotional state on is worth all my tears and cheers. Ever since my last view of the points table where KKR is at a measly 3, I'm not following the scores anymore, as you might have noticed from the absence of my live feed table in this blog. What's the point? They're never gonna get to the semis.
I'm angry at Mr B for messing up with the strategy from early on. Heck, even though I know it's redundant to be angry at an owner when it's the team management (or lack of it) that's at fault, I'm a tad angry at Shah Rukh for letting the dismal show carries on like this when it was clear from the 6th match that a fundamental change in formation (be it at the directive or player level) is in order. Maybe it's because I'm so used to him being a take-charge and in-charge person in his own professional life, seeing him give full reign to someone else seems so uncharacteristic of him that it jars my sensibilities.
On another front, the media has done it again. They couldn't get enough of dissing SRK when it comes to KKR and IPL but once he's on home ground and in his own element, they're all over him and saying things like KKR has disappointed him and that he's looking to sell it to the highest bidder. Losing two seasons does not make the franchise a dud, you idiots.
Having said that, I'm looking forward to improvements in the line-up, i.e 80% weed-out of current strategists in Mr B's camp (and if that includes Mr B himself, it's even better). After all, they've not given Shah Rukh value for his money and in the corporate world, which T20 is always made out to be by the critics, this kind of non-performance would have resulted in sacking. Is Shah Rukh going to be his regular softie self and retain this failed coterie for the next tournament??
This vent is good for letting out my angst. I feel calmer already. And if any cricket lover were to take this post so seriously as to quote it anywhere else, he (it's always a male) deserves a whack on the head.

Kolkata Knight Riders lost again tonight. They're so far behind in points, it's not even funny. No, it's never been funny from the start. I'm angry that the team I support is being messed this way.
Shah Rukh, I know you know more about cricket than I do... but seriously. There're only two things to do to get you and the team back in favour at Kolkata and a winning formula at IPL. Send Buchanan with his royal family and escorts back to Australia where they belong, and get Sourav back into captaincy. Although, I wonder if he'd be keen on getting the title again the way he's been hoisted off so unceremoniously by Buchanan in SA.
In fact, if the IPL were to be looked at, the whole enterprise has gone into a sour phase. If critics were to be believed, that is. And you know how heavy-handed those doom-sayers are on any matter unconventional and new.
Oh God. It's true what they say. Real life is stranger than fiction. I bet even the movie industry has never given Shah Rukh Khan this much nightmare and so many sleepless nights. He's even come up with that ingenious 'celebrity guest' concept in addition to dancing at more weddings, probably to fill up the hole in his pocket burnt by his destructive brushes with IPL. The way the media has made a field day of his losses ...their excited buzz is like a nest teeming with gleeful hornets.
I'm depressed. Maybe I should go watch anime for a coupla weeks, or until the tournament is over, to get myself off this IPL funk.

Watch the video for the rousing welcome they gave SRK last year. So if Shah Rukh does everything according to their taste, they'll love him and if not, they'll burn his posters and ban his movies?
Maybe one of these real cricket lovers from Kolkata should pool enough money to buy the franchise off his hand since they know the game so much more than he does.
Oh, and one more thing... look up the list of IPL team owners and name me an owner who 'knows what cricket is all about'... which one? Vijay Mallya? India Cements? Reliance Industries Ltd?
IPL is not just about cricket. It's high time everyone accepts that so we all can get on with life.

It is lot of restructuring at BCCI. Ever since the ICC pushed for an early resolution with ICL and the Essel groups’ response to failed negotiations with strong legal actions have caused a lot of concern for the BCCI. The IPL cash-cow too has left a lot of loop holes in the second season.
The announced deal and revised hike by IPl broadcaster Sony; is not all black and white. According to sources it seems that Sony will not part with cash and some parts of the revised hike, is in format of barter to the IPL & its franchisees- in terms of free air time for promotion.
Tickets are being sold at a low rate of only about Rs 100. Even this low rate is not educing full houses and false propaganda of sell-out matches have become part of the IPL fictional folklore. This has left the franchisees with lot of heartburn; the central revenue (largely coming from the Bradcaster fee) may not see a hike in actual cash-flow as is being proclaimed by IPL officials. Gate receipts are a long foregone history making the red on franchisee balance-sheet’s far more prominent and dark.
SRK ill- advised to drop his city loyalty base and reposition his team into a pan global identity has met with dust. Latest reports that the Bollywood Badshah is on his way out of the IPL circus, further compounded by his teams’ disastrous cricket performance.
Despite better cricket performances Rajashtan Royals & Kings 11 Punjab are financially bleeding and are looking for stake holders to keep the ship floating. The only way IPL franchisees’ can be bailed out is in form of additional central revenue from IPL.
However that seems a distant reality with Sony officials admitting that offering additional broadcast fees was a mistake, especially after learning that the competitive suitors NDTV & ESPN were never serious about paying the revised rates demanded by the IPL body.
Sony now has offered the IPL and its franchisee a strict part payment in barter (free air time for promotion) that results in lack on additional cash revenue from the central revenue system offered by IPL to its franchisees.

His boss and mentor Sharad Pawar too has distanced himself from Lalit Modi in season-2. Srinivasan, Rajeev Shukla and Niranjan Shah ( BCCI powerbrokers) are fence sitters and waiting for the election results. Rumors are also afloat that if the congress returns to power Lalit Modi’s stint in Indian cricket would be history.
If the ICL issue was not enough then the BCCI also has to content with the APL ( American Premiere League). The BCCI wants to monopolize the game but an over priced IPL has broadcasters and prospective sponsors looking at private leagues like the ICL & upcoming APL as a more value for money proposition. These are interesting times in cricket Will the monopoly of BCCI continue or will it have to share space with ICL & APL? It’s an answer that only time will tell.

Malaysia is being considered as a neutral zone for replacement venue by Pakistan Cricket Board

Dalam kejadian itu, enam pegawai polis dan seorang pemandu terbunuh dan beberapa pemain Sri Lanka mengalami kecederaan.Memandangkan keadaan keselamatan tidak menentu di negara itu, Lembaga Kriket Pakistan (PCB) terpaksa mengubah perlawanan antarabangsanya ke negara luar selepas pasukan asing enggan berkunjung ke negara itu.
Pengerusi PCB Muhammad Ijaz Butt berkata Malaysia, yang menganjurkan Kejohanan Tiga Negara Piala DLF -- Australia,, India dan West Indies di Akademi Oval Kinrara pada 2006, mempunyai potensi untuk dipilih sebagai venue berkecuali.

Hmmm...
I'm alarmed at all the bad press the IPL is getting from their own media. And the status the journalists are affording crack bloggers (cult??) is absolutely disheartening.
Maybe it's because IPL is more than just cricket. Maybe it's because the culture of clubs has not really infiltrated into the psyche of the Indian people yet, the way it's been for soccer in Europe. Maybe the instant success and the crores upon crores of profit allegedly made by the organizers has made some people very unhappy coz it's not being channeled their way. Maybe it's because some of the team owners are glamorous Bollywood stars and the spotlight that's constantly being shone on them (Shah Rukh especially) rather than on the game and players has made cricket professionals and fans very uncomfortable and touchy.
Whatever's the reason, it (the bad press) is keeping IPL in a very visible mode. I'm a firm believer of "No publicity is bad publicity" so this is actually a good thing, except that at the moment it's dragging me down a bit, emotionally speaking. Here I am ...trying to know cricket since I know nothing about it as my country is not a cricket-mad country and I've never been a sports enthusiast, trying to understand the pulse of the game, trying to get into the seriousness of it all... the wins, the losses, the ties. And at the end of the day, I have to read an article that says a crack blogger is possibly IPL 2009's biggest entertainer ...not the game, not the players, not the team owners, not anyone who's connected to the game in a professional way. The attitude in the media treatment of the T20 tournament disappoints me.
However, I also firmly believe that things will get settled after 5 years. I always give anything a chance to get better in 5 years, after which I'll despair and leave if it's still going steadily downhill. I want to see how KKR would develop as a team in 5 years. Will the team outshine Shah Rukh in 5 years or will he still need to babysit it after every loss and cheer for it after every win for it to pick up its spirit. Who will stay on and become the star players that KKR will absolutely not be able to do without (other than Sourav, that is). When the foreign players start being 'sold' to opposite teams at later biddings in the manner of club culture, how will it go with the current passionately-territorial fans in India (after all, Sourav Ganguly's removal from captaincy has elicited such an extreme response).
So many interesting questions and none of the passionate cricket fans who know a whole lot better than I do are asking them. Instead, they're concentrating on momentous issues long past their date of being important to the current game on the field. Decisions have been made and the results are being recorded in real time to be studied for workable future gameplays, guys. Get with the program!
I've been searching the youtube for new clips after the 3rd and 4th game and not finding any. That's weird. The game with RJR (the first tie in the history of IPL) should get a few interviews out of someone, if not Shah Rukh. The only ones I found are on the game itself, which is highly unusual. Has the media settled into a rut after only a week into the IPL 2 tournament, or are the journalists currently focusing very hard on the crack blogger as the fountain of their wisdom? I'd like to advise the media covering IPL to deliberately split itself into two faces: the professional mask that records things as they are and the tabloid mask that constantly chases sensational materials regardless of the reality. It's the only way you guys (and us) can stay sane in this reluctant partnership.

Dear Sir,
I knew nothing of cricket and now I'm posting the IPL 2 scoreboards in my blog and tyring to understand how the heck is a points table calculated, all because you came on to the scene. Needless to say, I'm your fan and I support your team because you believe in them, and I believe in you.
A lot of the things you said in your post and interviews are common sense, but somehow they can still make me go, "hey, that's right!" especially about losing and winning, giving something our best shot, living with our decisions, etc. Everytime you say something, I think it's not that I learn new things, but I learn to look at the same old things with new eyes.
From the credentials, I think KKR has a good set of players and has about the same chance as the other team to win the tournament. I know you said last time that if it didn't work for 1 year, you'll leave. But I hope you'd stick with it the way you stick with the movie industry. I think the journey will be immensely beneficial, not just to you, but also to us all.Thank you for being here.

Reading the comments in his posts, I realized how far the internet has come in teaching us how to be rude to perfect strangers. What do we know of Shah Rukh Khan apart from what we watch on screen, the details of his life in his biographies and his thoughts dispersed in interviews? Zilch, nothing, nada. And yet, some people think they have the right to criticize his decisions as if he were their subordinate or a 4-year old young member of their family. But of course, Shah Rukh would say, "It's okay. It's their point of view."
I have this aversion to typos, bad grammar, abbreviations, swear words and bad manners in internet comments. I've had my share of them before in my other blog and it's soured my whole experience of writing there. I'm not a public figure, so I don't have to 'bear with it' like celebrities and politicians, which is one of the many reasons I left that blog. I'm happy that no one has ever commented to my posts here despite it having some on-and-off visitors. I thank you for your restraint.
I was ecstatic not because he has started blogging, but because of the manner in which he's writing his posts. His words are simple, his messages are clear, he's matter-of-fact, he's not a verbose blogger, he writes as is needed and not more, he's not out there to explain the losses nor the wins but only to state his stand, and he's not apologetic. I would hate it if he had whined about the controversial issues surrounding his team. I've never thought of him as whiner, and I'm glad he's proven, at least to me, that he's not by his first post.
Frankly, I don't understand people who are harshly judgmental on decisions made by others concerning their lives, enterprises, fights, etc. Let them do it. And if you don't support them ...leave, switch off, scram. Don't go all over their space with insults and hate-filled complaints, burn their posters and effigies, etc. How childish. That's what I can't stand about sports the most... the extreme childishness of the fans and supporters. Maybe coz they're mostly made up of 8-year olds dressed up in adult bodies.
The episode with Mumbai Indians this Monday is already hurting my stomach. I'm so nervous. I wish I could be at the stadium or at least in front of a TV monitor to watch it. I think the year KKR win the championship, Red Chillies should come out with a DVD of the whole KKR-IPL matches. I bet a lot of us would have liked to own that. I know I do.

I have never felt this nervous about a game I don't understand and am not even able to watch
Currently, Kolkata Knight Riders (79/1), Kings XI 158/6 (source).
... as green as I am about cricket, even I know that KKR just have to win this match to gain the much-needed momentum and install confidence in the players and the fans. However, alternating between optimism and pessimism, plus not having lunch or dinner today, is not making it easier on my poor stomach.
There're some ways to watch cricket online for free, but Malaysia internet being the slowass it is, none of the alternatives given will probably work. I'm currently hitting google search button every two seconds to look up the results. It's like reading alien language, not English, but I persevere.
I wonder if anyone realised that all the Bollywood stars' cricket teams (RR, Kings, KKR) lost their first matches for whatever reasons. Blaming it on rain or depleted players or pre-tournament controversies does not take away the fact that they've lost. Is there an equation between the teams being severely highlighted due to high-profile owners and their poor performances on the field in this second time around? I hope not.
Will KKR pick itself up this time? Will I still continue to cheer for KKR if it continues its poor showing for the rest of the tournament? I think in this matter, I need to learn from Shah Rukh some sportsmanship (of which I have nearly none) and think positive thoughts for the team I believe in. I've decided that I'm not going to toss away my hope in them just because they didn't win their first match (and second??).
The journey is still ongoing and I hope they play well tonight and in the rest of IPL 2.

Rajasthan Royals defeated by Bangalore Royal Challengers
I'm only keeping up with the commentary in anticipation of which team KKR will face when it advances to the semi-finals (that's me being positive, not sarcastic). For those who understand what all these figures mean, I'm pasting the results of the match here (full article):
- Bangalore Royal Challengers gained a crushing 75-run win as the champions were bowled out for a paltry 58
- Indian batting star Rahul Dravid made a fine 66 as Bangalore recovered from losing two wickets for no runs in the first three balls of their innings. Bangalore made 133 for eight, which hardly seemed likely to be a total easily defended, but the Royals made a horror start and never recovered. They were bowled out for 58, with no batsman making more than 11
- Mascarenhas struck again when Robin Uthappa was caught behind to reduce the Challengers to 17 for three. But Pietersen made 32 as he and Dravid started a fightback. Dravid carried it on, batting until the last over of the innings as he made 66 off 48 balls with eight fours and a six. Mascarenhas took three for 20 and he was backed up by Munaf Patel (two for 25) and Warne, who claimed two for 18 in his four overs.

I feel like pasting this here becoz I think it's cute~~
...and becoz let's face it, Shah Rukh never does things without a strong vision in mind and I thought that what he wrote here illustrates that quite clearly.

Today is an important day in my life. I am going to have six new additions to my family of Kolkata Knight Riders. And they are special, they are my Angels, who have been unearthed after a nationwide hunt spanning over three months.

Knights and Angels (KNA) is an extension of my belief in spreading the awareness of sports in India. Cheerleading is a big sport in America and cheerleaders have their own fan following. After last year’s controversy regarding the sport, I decided to add respectability to a profession which can create great opportunities for the youth.
Cheerleading for Kolkata Knight Riders is a platform, which will help them forge successful careers. But a word of caution — cheerleading can’t be used as a stepping stone. Education is still the most important thing for every individual. I have invited the Angels as special guests for the Kolkata Knight Riders match at Eden Gardens. Even I plan to enter the stadium with my Angels and dance with them as we try to put on a great performance.
KNA is also an effort to promote sports in our country. When I was growing up, there was little scope for playing any kind of sports. With a population of 1.2 billion, only 11 players make it to the National Cricket team. Sports in India is yet to grow in every state, district, and every nook and corner. It is with that intention that I created Hoogly Moshai, the mascot of Kolkata Knight Riders, who was incorporated on the show to get children to come and see the matches. I also want to make an animation film with a sports theme on Hoogly so that more children can play sports with opportunities I never had while I was growing up.

I feel chastised XD
I read this comment on someone's blog, and I went, "Okay, maybe I should shut up and stop commenting on cricket issues in someone else's blog from now on." LOL
It IS true that I don't understand a thing about cricket ^^; ...o well, I'll still cheer the team but all my (un)knowledgeable comments on KKR updates will be done here in the 'privacy' of my own blog. So that should someone barge in here and give me comments like the above, I can at least tell him to go to hell where he'll prolly get to live a more interesting life.
Anyway, I remember reading the vicious comments on Shah Rukh's ability as a producer when PBDH and Asoka bombed at the box office, and now everyone is saying what an excellent businessman he is.

So yeah... I do want him to stick it out with this project, because it's his passion. I want to read what's gonna be said about him 6-8 years from now as a cricket team owner (he owns it for 10 years). I want to see these people eat their words XD
It IS true that I don't understand a thing about cricket ^^; ...o well, I'll still cheer the team but all my (un)knowledgeable comments on KKR updates will be done here in the 'privacy' of my own blog. So that should someone barge in here and give me comments like the above, I can at least tell him to go to hell where he'll prolly get to live a more interesting life.
Anyway, I remember reading the vicious comments on Shah Rukh's ability as a producer when PBDH and Asoka bombed at the box office, and now everyone is saying what an excellent businessman he is.

Did you know...
...that we have our own Twenty20 match going on right here in Malaysia? Uhuh, you read that right. We even have Persatuan Kriket Melayu Malaysia. When did all this happen? I feel like I've been living on another planet. Here I am blabbering about Twenty20 matches in India, and all the while a Twenty20 match is happening on home ground this week:

GELARAN juara Kejohanan Perisai Raja-Raja berakhir kelmarin, sudah semestinya melonjakkan kegarangan skuad Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia apabila bertarung dalam saingan Twenty20 UKM bagi merebut Piala Menteri Pengajian Tinggi bermula hari ini hingga Ahad di Bayuemas Oval, Klang dan UKM Oval, Bangi.
Enam pasukan unversiti tempatan bertanding dalam pertandingan anjuran Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia itu yang secara langsung memberi pendedahan pertandingan berformat 20 over yang menjanjikan pertemuan aksi tinggi membabitkan sebahagian besar pemain pelapis kebangsaan dan peserta antarabangsa yang menuntut di negara ini.
Pengarah pertandingan dan teknikal pertandingan, Fairus Shafie berkata, UKM yang merupakan pusat prestasi tinggi kriket di bawah program Persatuan Kriket Melayu Malaysia mengharapkan pendedahan itu sebagai persediaan pasukan Malaysia yang akan mengharungi kelayakan Twenty20 ke Sukan Asia di Guangzhou, China tahun depan.
I still don't get sports though, and how am I supposed to buy the ticket? Are they still selling? Where can I find the ticket booth? Where the heck is this UKM Oval place anyway? Why are there only university teams playing for the Twenty20? Don't we have state teams or national? Why is there the word 'Melayu' in the association name? ..does that mean non-malays can't join in or if they want to play they need to form an association pertaining to each race's identity? I thought sports is supposed to be blind to race and religion?...so many questions and no one to ask them to.
