Endorsements

He has done so many that simply posting the individual youtube clips for each ad will take up too much space. I like it when the posts I'm reading are all on the same page so I don't have to scroll down too much (I have lazy fingers) and I guess a lot of people prefer that too.

Endorsement is a huge part of his professional life, and he's known to have thanked the companies who trust him to carry their brands forward as the financial perks it's given him has enabled him to do the kind of cinema he wants to be involved in without having to be particular about the paycheques he receives from the movie producers.

But it's o-ke. SRK said he prefers pot shots againts him than being ignored XD. It's just one of his ways to deal with all this excessive intrusiveness, I guess.

Interviews

I'm obsessed with his interviews but I find that however many clips I've watched on the net, new ones always crop up later on in the week. Or old interviews being uploaded or re-uploaded. Since November 2008 (I've loved him since KKHH but I got severely into him after he was conferred Datukship by the state I was born in: Melaka, or Malacca in English), I have never had a day when I go on google ..type 'shah rukh interview' ..and come back empty.

And I know that if Shah Rukh himself had known how many almost-24-hour days I've spent watching his interview clips on the net, he'd be horrified. He'd even probably advise me not to be so obsessed and start spending more time living my own life. I have to hide my router on weekdays now, otherwise my fingers will roam by themselves and type those familiar search words in google without my knowledge and my whole body won't be able to budge from the monitor when the links start to open XD

So I have decided to make a post where I can dump all the links to the interviews I have watched or bookmarked to watch because I don't want to keep the links in several posts... it's too annoying to open so many of my own links to get to more of my own links. This however will probably make the post several window pages long by the year end (if I keep at it, that is).

Plans for this blog

Now before I go on and on writing about the stuff I want to post here, I'd like to remind myself of my inherent laziness that has been the cause of many a blog lying around cyber space being totally useless and unproductive. It's a good thing we can't see the rubbish we've generated on the internet or else we'd need big massive clean-up processes happening every 2 seconds.

Shah Rukh is a power house all on his own so there are too many things I can post about, actually. And the fact that materials on him are so easy to find (and in English! What bliss!) makes me more confident that this is the one idol I can blog about as easily as I please. Try obsessing over an internationally known artist in an obscure traditional japanese performing art called kyogen or a rock star who insists on being thoroughly japanese in his interviews/shows/concerts/etc. ..then look at SRK with his extremely accessible appearances and committed (read: fanatical and obsessed) legion of fans who upload any video that has a 2-second appearance of his in it on the youtube only a few hours after it's aired.. and you'll hopefully see why I'd happily stay with Shah Rukh forever and ever to the exclusion of all my previous idols.. ha!
