It feels weird... and kind of special... to fangirl over an actor who is not Asian in this blog. I think Colin Morgan is only the 3rd western crush I pimp here. The 1st being Lee Williams, and the 2nd is the ever evolving Colin Firth (Oscar!!!FTW).

I did catch Merlin when it was first aired in Malaysia...what, a year ago? But at that time, I was all... meh, what's this story about? And why is the title character so thin and bony?? Obviously I had no clue of what and who I was talking about coz a few weeks ago, upon watching this one episode of which I no longer remember what it's all about, suddenly a lightbulb went off in my brain and I went... this show is so gay! LOL. Yeah, I'm a slow learner... ^^;;

The show is full of layers and ...mmmm, layers *cough* ...and what with Merlin / Arthur forever looking at Arthur / Merlin like he's the most delectable dish the guy's ever come across while Arthur / Merlin is always looking back at the other dude (I'm not choosy really, whoever's staring hungrily at whoever is good enuff for me) with this pseudo what, what expression... I'm in BL haven... and for once, it's not coming from a japanese / korean / taiwan / hindi source. Loving it.

After watching a few incomplete episodes (I promise I'll download the whole seasons later, mkay) I concluded that the Brits do BL waaaaaay better than the Americans can ever hope to do. Is it because of their stronger European connection? I was ready to generalize about the whole western cinema not having a clue about subtlety when it comes to boyxboy content before this drama came along.

I mean, seriously... look at Heroes and weep over the loss of having so many hot-looking guys running around and not giving each other suggestive stares even once! At least not that I'm aware of, and sometimes I can be rather dim about these things. But only sometimes! Anyway, I don't watch Supernatural (have a fear of horror) or Prison Break (don't like convict/war/violent stories much), so can't comment about those. But look at Smallville and imagine how much better it would be for us if Clark and Lex have a more super-charged, electrifying bond.. eh? Clark just keeps on chasing after Lex, and Lex can't get enough of doing bad stuff that will keep Clark eternally chasing after him. And all those gorgeous super heroes and super villains and kryptonite-mutants who can come in and play havoc with their love life. Right, I want to cry now.

It's pretty hilarious how Hollywood gets to be morally upright in TV shows that it makes me roll my eyes every friggin' time like... come on people, we already know, ok?

I found these cast videos. Colin Morgan ish so cute!!! Freaks me out when I got to know that he's 25 years old, though. Why? Because I seem to have a harem of boys born in 1986 (hyung, Kame... and now CM). Furthermore, they're all in the lust/love-at-first-sight category so it's not as if I planned any of this. Am I psychic?? Or is the universe trying hard to tell me something????! (But what?)

ETA: I apologize to everyone who got eye burn after staring at so many bolded words. IDEK what happened. Blame it on the crappy modem connection, but I have to check out of this hotel now (hubby's getting antsy.. any minute now and he's gonna confiscate my laptop) so can't go on an edit spree. And once I'm home, it's a different universe so I doubt I'll ever get around to edit it then. But hey, just think of it as squee-ing with bold rather than CAPS... kthxbye~

..so I thought it was modified from this song, coz it also has that "bounce" thing in its lyrics and since it's such a popular song it's only natural that the style got copied.

I love it when they make pretty girls dressed in sexy outfits dance to a ridiculous choreography while maintaining a totally serious expression throughout the routine. Fun times.

Anyway, enough detective work for this week. Here's the making of to the A.N.Jell parody. I wonder if they really would do a second season of You're Beautiful. Watching this clip, somehow I miss them...

...oh, I went to the shopping complex to find some new manga and ended up buying the "Biscuit Teacher & Star Candy" DVD from a Speedy Video outlet.. YEAY! It's currently out of stock at Yesasia, for those who want to know.

That's the only Gong Yoo drama I can't watch on the net coz the quality of the streaming video is so bad. I mean, the online clips are okay if you just want to watch the drama and don't care a jot about Gong Yoo. But for someone who wants to rewind his every scene at least 3 times just to stare at his hands, his face or any part of his body.. the bad video quality is really an inconvenience.

I also bought the "BOF Making Of" DVD for hubby. He was really happy with that purchase... (kekeke)

Listening and singing along to this in the car on the way to school brings back memories of my past obsession. Gackt, why have you changed so much? Or maybe it's me who've changed and I can't follow you anymore.

This is one of the only two songs of his that I was able to memorize despite listening to his albums a gajillion times. Why is it so hard to remember his lyrics?? I love this song coz the pitch is not too high and not too low.. it suits my voice and allows me to scream as loud as I want. Which is why this is a car song and not a bathroom song.. hehe.

I miss Gackt and his uber-rock phase. As Malice Mizer fans will never get to see their Ice Prince any longer, I doubt we'll ever get to see uber-rock Gackt again. I guess that's just how life goes. But who knows what will happen in the future, huh?

AVS Interview with Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol

I just left the cinema a few hours ago and already I'm itching to watch it again. I wish I don't have to go through the harrowing experience of watching it in a cinema for the 2nd viewing though (pls don't mind me, I probably have xenophobia-agoraphobia or something). I want to watch Rizwan again. I want to hear his monologues. I want to watch him being teased by Mandira. I want to watch his interactions with Sam. I want to watch that walk. O God! I love how he walks! I need to own this movie!!

Were there scenes missing? I thought they were cut out of the movie I watched this afternoon (by our censorship board??..but why??) when I watched the MNIK making of/promo/etc. clips: Kajol sitting alone at the table with a mug in front of her, Rizwan solving Rubik cube, Rizwan with "Need a Ride" placard, Rizwan chasing Mandira while Mandira runs away, both scenes where Rizwan is fascinated by that ornament thing, Mandira fighting with security over something, the soccer game where Rizwan is overjoyed (Sam's team won..I guess), there's a scene with Sam that just got from here to there abruptly..am not saying which coz don't want to give spoiler, if I'm not mistaken..the funeral scene at the bench never got to the close-up part, and the threesome scene on the bed.

God knows what else I'm missing, or maybe I just imagined they're missing coz I want to watch the movie again so much. I swear I didn't even blink..except for this 2 seconds when I had to switch off my handphone. (I swore that I felt murderous intent all around me ^^;). I need to buy the DVD, and this time I'm buying it from Amazon. I want everything..the making of, the deleted scenes, the complete movie. I don't want scissor-happy people at the censorship to get to it first. However, looking at Dharma-Red Chillies-Fox marketing plan, the DVD is probably gonna take awhile to come out..which is the main reason why I braved the cinema adventure in the first place. I know everyone is kinda gung ho over supporting Shah Rukh & co. and all, but I promise you..that never crossed my mind one moment when I decided to buy the ticket. I never do nerve-wrecking things for anyone but God and myself (in that order). Not even for hubby dearest and my parents, least of all a movie star I've never met..though I love him dearly. I'm selfish that way.. :P

I especially don't watch movies to make a political point. No, I don't. I leave that kind of grandiose gestures to the politicians.

So why did I watch the movie then? I watched it entirely because of my love for Shah Rukh and my preference for KJo's cinema. I'm okay with Kajol, as long as she acts alongside Shah Rukh..or else I generally don't watch her movies (sorry, I'm a single-track minded individual). Do you know? (Rizwan would have answered, "I don't" immediately.. LOL) After watching KKHH for 20+ times, K3G for 6+ times, KANK for 4+ times and now MNIK.. I think I've acquired a feel for KJo's cinema. I could also sense the style in which Shah Rukh directed all the action sequences: KKHH (1st basketball), KANK (soccer match), and now MNIK (UCLA). I love their works so much!

Book your ticket now if you haven't already. And remember, movies are to be felt and enjoyed..not analysed and dissected. Leave that to professional critics. They get paid to do that job. Leave the speculations of profits and losses to the trade pundits. They get paid to do that job. We're the audience, some are fans..some are not. We should only watch it and like..or dislike. Don't need to bother about nothin' else. Have fun at the movie!

SRK is the only superstar I know whose works (none of 'em stupid scandals stuff with this guy) are being actively monitored by fans all over the world down to an almost day to day basis. Proof is in these videos that get uploaded almost as the events happen/are broadcasted. I'm loving it so much!!

I found the making of the Dish TV ads!

I'm sure you've all seen the new Dish TV ads (which prompted me to seek out other Dish TV commercials he's done. I love the one with the cricket! Oh.. long hair, shirt hanging loose, while swinging a bat around. o yumm~).. so I was waiting for the making of to come out. And here it is!!



I feel disconcerted, or dislocated rather.. when I watched Shah Rukh gave the interview in the old man disguise. Was like, "eeeek.. take it off first b4 talking to anyone!" But that's Shah Rukh for you. Never one to fear the loss of an image in whatever roles he plays, I love that about him. Then the interview fades back to the currently very young looking with tight shirt half-unbuttoned sexy Shah Rukh, and I get dislocated again LOL. This is very confusing, yaar!

Oh, one more thing.. one question you should never ask him: "What's common between Dish TV and Shah Rukh Khan?" If I were sitting on a chair, I would have fallen off it already..gyabo *was laughing too much* ..yeah, I'm an easily amused person, so sue me :P

I miss this movie.. I want to buy the CD!

I can't get over how sexy he is in this movie like in almost every frame! (shyaddap all you who don't think so..LOL), despite not acting in a romantic role. What I like the most about Maxie's image? The earring! I also love it that he is constantly clothed in an undershirt.. o yumm. I love the cut-off gloves too, and the bicycle chain he's always swinging around.

I know some fans hate Ash due to some of her remarks regarding the issues they had after Chalte Chalte, but what can I say.. I have a preference for big-eyed, cutesy females. Anyway, I think Ash and Shah Rukh make a nice on-screen couple and I'm one of those few fans in the SRK fandom who want them to get together in a movie again..dem her ex-bf for ruining their work and personal relationships.

They look good as brother and sister here, but then.. Shah Rukh has never not been able to carry out any relationship equation with his co-stars. When he's a college student, even after we've seen him in suits and an 8-year old daughter just a few frames before, he'll be believable as a college student. When he's an older brother, even with an intensely attractive and over-gorgeous taller younger brother, he manages to grab the screen whenever they're together in a scene (according to the unbiased me). When he's playing this (psychotic? delusional?) teacher in love with a dead girl, even when he's standing right next to the imposing and charismatic school principal, he manages to appear to be not just the saner one.. but the more righteous person of the two.

There's an art form to Shah Rukh's method of acting. I can't figure it out or why I'm so drawn to him despite whatever the official/unofficial critics say about his acting ability. I love the way he approaches a scene, his character, the surrounding characters.. everything. There's an empathy between him and what's unfolding in the story that makes me want to absorb every single gesture, expression, action, etc. of his. I don't feel this way about any other actor, no matter how greater an actor he is as compared to Shah Rukh (according to everybody else). I don't understand why there's a need to explain this biased reaction of mine towards Shah Rukh to anyone, really. I like him the best.. better than the rest.. toh kiya?

I envy this cameraman/woman...

Do these clips make him seem more real? More human? More physical? I dunno.. to me, it just makes Shah Rukh Khan seem more adorable.

The one with the basketball made me go, "Girls cannot play basketball!" ..well, in this one it's Shah Rukh who couldn't LOL. Poor basketball, suffering from much gentle abuse.. :P

They're strictly a NO-NO for those who are allergic to Shah Rukh and can't find any satisfaction in whatever he does. To those of you who fall into that category, please.. don't watch these clips, I beg you!! I'm tired of reading comments from masochists who flagellate themselves with endless SRK-bashing on youtube.

He has done so many that simply posting the individual youtube clips for each ad will take up too much space. I like it when the posts I'm reading are all on the same page so I don't have to scroll down too much (I have lazy fingers) and I guess a lot of people prefer that too.

Endorsement is a huge part of his professional life, and he's known to have thanked the companies who trust him to carry their brands forward as the financial perks it's given him has enabled him to do the kind of cinema he wants to be involved in without having to be particular about the paycheques he receives from the movie producers.
