Yes, yes... I'm updating again. Now that hyung is back and looking sexier than ever, how can I resist blabbing about him all over the place?

Kyaaaaaaaaaa! Another show! Okay, this makes all the months of not having KHJ on my screen worth the wait.

Hope they sub it quickly... thing with hyung, if we can't enjoy his 4D talk then it'll be like soooo frustrating.

Doesn't he look so grown up now? He's lost most of his chubby face, all lean machine now. I keep going "Wow, he looks so much more like a dancing mannequin," coz of his excessive prettiness. The mature look suits him, even if I did wish he had a cuter-styled hair. Well, at least it's not a bowl cut or dyed platinum / strawberry blonde hair. Eeeep.

Speaking of pretty, hyung confessed to having a nose job. Ha! I could almost hear a cacophony of "We told you so!!!" LOL. He said he did it after his nose was hit (smashed? thwacked? tapped?) by a stone, but I dunno why that should distract antis and their grandmothers from the fact that Mr. Perfect had his nose done.

Oh, I just looked this up coz I'm not into fanclubs so I'm very sorry I missed it. I'm still a TRUE FAN~~~ (whatevs). I'm just trying to imagine what antis will make out of Henecia... there are some interesting words that rhyme with it out there, if you have all the time in the world as antis do to indulge in that sorta past time. Anyway, does that make us Henecians, then? That sounds pretty rad, actually. I think we should start looking up a potential home planet.

As usual, I like to torture myself by reading reviews on albums by artists I like, knowing that these critics write them by focusing solely on the songs and performances with no regard for the artists' hotness factor. Of course that kind of dry objectivity is permissible with some artists, but not with Kim Hyun Joong.

It's like trying to say Madonna, Britney Spears, Justin Timberlake, George Michael and Lady Gaga should rank lower in the chart coz they have limited vocal range but hey they're skilled at working with what they've got to make themselves sound good. (Duh. I wonder if these critics ever realize how redundant their columns are before they publish them).

Despite KHJ not being anywhere in the vicinity of those pop deities, it still holds true that an idol is a complete package and somehow KHJ just exudes idol charisma. I used to wonder about it too, until I saw him for myself from afar. He's just such a blinding light and I was floating from happiness despite being squashed by hundreds of screaming fangirls throughout the meet-up session. Borrowing a line from his new song... "I just don't get it, get it."

I tried to watch the highly-rated Oh! Ah! and Girl by Kim Hyung Jun (a.k.a. the other KHJ)... mmm, nope. No feeling whatsoever. No to Jung Min's Not Alone either. I guess it depends on what you like and whom you like. No amount of ratings from even the most seasoned of critics can make you feel for a song or a performance or an artist. But I'm a masochist, so I reserve my rights to continue reading those review columns as much as I want.

By the way, Break Down just nabbed 1st place on the Hanteo Charts, Korea’s largest record sales chart.. so yeah, if someone were to tell me how that is not indicative of a good song, I'll ignore the stupid.

(have you ever tried to sing 'One More Time'? He goes from very low to screaming without his voice sounding like it's experiencing much range. I didn't realize that until I tried to sing it. No matter how I tried, I still can't get the pitch right. It was then that I realized how good he is as a singer. Try it and see, maybe you're a better singer than I am and can get it at first try)

Found a talk where he was asked about that nose job thing he disclosed in the previous TV program and hyung conveniently admitted to suffering from insomnia (video here). I love the way he can twist questions around in interviews and make it work in his favour with apparently no prior planning or scheming. He's a genius at handling obnoxious and belligerent hosts. And when they're nice to him, he'll turn on that mega-wattage charm that has even the male talk show hosts melting in puddles of goo at his feet.

[Rambling] All sorts of wonderful updates

I still have a flu and cough despite resting through 4 absolutely work-free days courtesy of MCs and gobbling all sorts of medicine since a week ago. I have to organize a meeting in 2 hours time with another working paper still undone. I have a deadline for 4 papers hanging over my head like the Sword of Damocles and still managed to finish re-reading up to the 21st volume of Kindaichi Case Files (the malay-translated paperbook version). I have a date with all my supervisors to present my progress report and my slide is yet to be done. I bought a stack of CDs and DVDs that I still haven't listened to/watched that include KAT-TUN's World Big Tour, Tamaki Hiroshi's MW, Kame's Gokusen The Movie & One Pound Gospel drama, , Gong Yoo's Biscuit Teacher & Star Candy, SS501's 1st album DVD and Mansai Nomura's Ran.

Overall.... life is wonderful. That was what I felt as I listened to KAT-TUN's songs while I was driving to school this morning. Kindaichi's right. As long as we're alive, we still have something that can turn our lives around again. That 'something' is time. So, I hope everyone who still has some lingering suicidal tendency in his/her heart to... as Kyouhei in Yamnade says... look towards the future and move forward. Everyone is struggling in his/her own way. Never underestimate other people's problems. Even those we envy have problems that can drag them down any second. Appreciate what we have now so we won't have any regret in the future. Okay?

Well, there's a reason why hyung is the leader, other than him being the oldest. It's because he's the best at damage control in SS501, and his differently wired brain is so logical that he'll find a way out of the stickiest situations (I've seen him did it several times in interviews). Luck only does not explain how he managed to be under so many spotlights in his career (WGM, BOF, PK, Guanzhou Asian Games.. to name a few). Do you honestly think that were it someone else occupying the places he'd been, they would be loved and recognized as he is now? Maybe yes, but we'll never know now, will we? Coz it's in THE PAST! So stop bludgeoning him to death just coz he's the most popular SS501 member (let's just accept that, shall we?). Chill out everyone! Why must fans make it into a Baby vs. Leader issue? Meh. I don't get it. Anyway, since they're not in the same agency, I think each of them must take care of what he is saying to the press or even in tweets. I doubt any of us want there to be bickering factions in the Triple S camp. Love any member you want more than the other four, and let us all be happy in our differences.. kay?

And another thing.. why must Leader attend every party given out by the members? Do you think he can cut his body into a few pieces so he can be everywhere at the same time? Even Park Jung Min said he didn't have time to watch Mischievous Kiss..  these are very busy people with schedules dictated by their agencies. They don't even have time to rest or eat or sleep sometimes. I don't care what the media is saying about them coz Leader has stated once that "the media is their anti" (hehe), but us fans.. we should be more understanding and gentle towards the boys coz we love them, right? So stop with the accusations already.

Seriously.. did the director for the opening ceremony think that we'll believe him over Kim Hyun Joong? What is the purpose of him expressing all this 'regret' to the media anyway? If it's a problem for them, settle it behind close doors.. why tell us that it's a contract violation? Does he want hyung's agency to pull him out of the event if the dispute gets blown out of proportion? I hate facilitators/management staff who care more about their 30 min of fame than an event they're supposed to take care of as carefully as they can. And correction. If there's any contract being violated, it'll be by the KeyEast rep coz I distinctively remember that the disclosure was done by someone from the agency and not by Kim Hyun Joong himself.

Whatever. We'll see how this one will turn out. Meanwhile...

 I'm glad hyung's transferred to KeyEast. They really take very good care of him, unlike DSP (remember the birthday debacle?). Every little or big thing that crops up and is potentially damaging to his image, the staff will swoop in with statements/explanations. When the fans expressed concern over PK's low rating and how hyung + the rest of the cast and crew are taking the bad news, Group 8 and KeyEast worked together to release still after still and making of clips that show how they're having fun filming the drama. I'm a very happy fan when I see hyung is under an efficient management. Keep up the good work, KeyEast!

On November 3rd, a spokesperson from KeyEast Entertainment revealed that Kim Hyun Joong was invited to sing for the ‘Guangzhou 2010 Asian Games‘ opening ceremonies. He was also bestowed the honor to be Korea’s representative.

The KeyEast Entertainment rep stated, “On November 12th, Kim Hyun Joong will sing the ‘Guangzhou 2010 Asian Games‘ official theme song, “Sunshine Again” at the opening ceremony as Korea’s representative.”

Reportedly, an official with the ‘Asian Games Organization Committee’ sent a formal invitation to Kim Hyun Joong, asking if he could lend his vocals for “Sunshine Again” near the end of September. At the time, Kim Hyun Joong was occupied with filming “Playful Kiss“; however, as soon as the series wrapped up, he departed for Beijing in secret to prepare for the opening ceremony.

Director Park Sung Jin, who extended the invitation, stated, “The council desired to host a creative and high-quality ceremony; they invited Kim Hyun Joong due to his continental fame in Asia. He will take the stage with 4 representative singers from China before the climatic torch lighting ceremony, signifying harmony between the different Asian nations.”

• Personnel of [Playful Kiss] has mentioned that “Profit received just for the pre-sold distribution rights to overseas has raked in 4 billion won by itself. It will begin to air from December onwards in Japan. If we were to assume the failure and success of this drama just by looking at the results achieved in Korea here, it is meaningless”. Lovecalls for him to appear in many works does not end as well. With SS501 members dispersed in each different agency, it looks like it will take some time for them to resume singer activities. Because of that, possibility for Kim Hyunjoong to focus on acting career for the moment looks high. Keyeast personnel says, “Not just dramas, there’re also many movie proposals received. There are so many proposals received, not at all worried. But first and foremost, to take a rest first, while also to plan for his next work carefully and seriously”. (link)

 Movie?? Movie?? Yes! Please appear in a movie, hyung! But of course you have to rest first.. seriously, you have to find a solution of how to stay at the same weight throughout a drama. Other than worrying about your health, I'm also distracted by the change in the character's appearance nearing the end of the story and not in a good way... although you're too yummy even when you're ultra-skinny that I'm willing to let it pass, but don't think you can work like that for all subsequent dramas. Your acting life is just beginning and I'm hoping for more works from you. Oh, and what about that solo album you promised us? Please don't do mini albums anymore. Make it a full album so I can save money and buy it. I'm dying to buy an album with only your voice in it *ish greedy*

• There will be a total of 9 episodes for these special features, and will be about Baek Seung-joo (Kim Hyun-joong) and Oh Ha-ni's (Jeong So-min) story after the last episode. The official from 'Group Eight' added, “It won't show much difference with the flow of the original or Taiwanese version, but there will be a special something that only Korean dramas can have.” (link)

Looks like it's been upgraded from 7 to 9 episodes now (yippeeeeee!) and I'm currently wondering how they're gonna pace it.. is it gonna be 1 episode per week? 10 minutes of PK per week?? How am I supposed to survive with such a measly fare? I'll be starving! Good that I'm doing that nonsensical picture recap job. Keeps me amused and happy in PKland for quite sometime to come.. hehe

• The new The Face Shop is out! Goodness.. hyung has this ability to emotionally move me to tears when I hear his voice. There's something about that voice. Hmmm.. that's how I felt about Gackt too, and when his voice changed I just couldn't like him as much any more. Will the same happen to hyung one day? I hope not. • Ratings for “Playful Kiss” double (read more). Some are saying how this is a hollow victory or some other shiz like that. Reading the rating analysis, I feel the same way I felt during the cricket matches when Shah Rukh's Kolkata Knight Riders team was playing.. eeeep. Why must the rating war be made into an international issue? In fact, I think some high stake bets are hinging on how many percentages Playful Kiss will get for the next episode. It's so ridiculous that it's not funny anymore. Let's just enjoy the drama!! *feels like she's talking to an empty room*

He's too yummy to be affected negatively by a new hairdo. But talking about the fashion style of this drama.. • Why hyung chose to play the role of Baek Seung Jo: "It is a manga reproduce drama same as 'Boys over Flowers'. The difference is, Yoon Ji Hoo is a gentle and understand boy, Baek Seung Jo is a role which will always sneer, so I wanted to challenge this" (read more).

And yeah.. My Girlfriend is a Gumiho is a 16-ep drama too, yes it is! So here we have.. competing in the same slot starting in two week's time (coz Rain's drama won't start next week due to the Chuseok festival).. is PK which has 8 more episodes left, Gumiho with 2 episodes left (i.e. it's its last week on air!) and Runaway's 1st ep. I do think that if PK's rating is not up phenomenally by next week, there's something faulty with the boxes they installed in those 2,000 TV viewers' houses (the ones that record the rating). Better check them out, tech people.
• A plan is brewing for petition to extend PK episodes (read more). Personally, I don't like online petitions. I still remember the one someone drew up to object hyung playing Baek Seung Jo in the drama... grrrrr. Also, this maybe is contrary to the sentiment of 99.99% of hyung's and PK's fans but I personally think 16 episodes is just right. I don't like the Chris-Kinnosuke arc, the trouble-at-the-Naoki's-father's-office arc, the grandfather's overlong arc, the side characters' arc (who cares about Kotoko/Oh Hani's friends's dilema? I just care about the couple's dilema coz I'm selfish like that) and the scenes where Naoki/Zhi Shu shows off his medical prowess (I mean, the guy is a genius.. why do we need proof of that stretching over 2 episodes?). Cut those irritatingly meandering chunks out and we're left with a neat 16-ep story focusing mostly on our favourite couple.

• Dunno what happened but it seems that for this weekend at least, the Battle of the Executives was won by Group 8 as Playful Kiss gets its (rightful) re-run slots firmly in place (read more).
• Playful Kiss’s First Kiss Climbs up in Nate’s Real Time Searches (read more). See, the positive way of looking at the lowass rating is.. without it, the production team would not have gone the extra mile to find innovative ways to market it. I'm loving the Youtube deal. Can't wait for October when it'll be open to PK-loving public. Antis.. keep out! You've had your fun when this drama was having a tough time competing with Baker King. Now it's our turn.
• Kim Hyun Joong does not have Twitter accounts (read more). And even if he had.. he would not be calling it 'actorhyunjoong' ..kay. Give the guy some credit for being one of the humblest stars in the k-entertainment scene.

I'm beginning to dislike these 8 minutes previews because if they show all the juicy bits, what are people supposed to look forward to in the next episode? But reading the youtube comments, maybe I'm in the minority so I guess it's an okay strategy (though I still don't like it).

Need a change..

Must be coz I'm getting old. The tiny letters of that blog format are starting to get on my nerves, so I dumped it for a new one. Now it's very minimal, coz I dunno know how to edit html, and stretches on to forever (or at least up to the limit of your monitor). Can't believe how much everything is emphasized when there's a white background as support.

Shah Rukh promised us some pictures yesterday but he couldn't give them this morning.. so the pictures (picture?) have to wait until tomorrow. The fail whale appeared several times during the course of the chat.. haha. The 'airwave' must be jammed due to our humongous tweeting activity. It's a GIANT CHAT ROOM!! Now the rate has increased to more than 60 tweets/sec. Cool..

I've abandoned the disheartening feeling of never having Shah Rukh read anything I write and just tweet for all its worth. Just do it!! I think the only time he has to actually sit and read whateva's in his twittbox is during these live sessions, so I'll be positive about it. I hope y'all be positive about it too and stop asking him to reply to you every 2 seconds or babbling about how he's never gonna read your tweets..yada yada yada (yes, I have the twitter search page turned on 24-7 and laid side-by-side to his). Don't waste your time with that kinda garbage when it's your (only?) opportunity to communicate with him...ON (almost) A DAILY BASIS.

Background update...

Today, it's the struggle with tiling the pic...awwww.

Some fans tried to help..but alas, it's to no avail and we're all stuck with viewing a bigass picture on the background.

But truthfully, when one is attempting to type as many words as possible in record time to avoid being pushed down the tweet queue, who cares about viewing backgrounds?? (except maybe some anal fans who annoyingly kept asking him to edit it *dushum*).

I've seen this pic floating around the net, but Aryaan making that funny face must have rendered this shot one for private viewing only hehe. 

Twitterverse update..

Is this twitter update thingee's gonna be a regular feature here in my blog?? Lemme channel my inner tweet and confirm it.. ha! I'm sorta addicted big time with that social networking site now.. demmit. I registered to follow Karan Johar (coz I genuinely like him, and reading bits of SRK updates was a bonus) but since Shah Rukh is in twiverse as well, I doubt I can leave.

Reading other fans' tweets (and mine) made me wonder.. what kinda face he makes while reading them? Expressionless, I bet. The kind of face he reserves for listening to story narrations from directors.. LOL. I think his unfeeling(picked up this word from his interview)-ness about certain things that can affect people so greatly is the reason he can go ahead and "Just Do It!" ..something I can surely learn to emulate in my work life (and personal too..with some relatives).
