I shouldn't have watched this drama. I really shouldn't. It's not finished airing in Korea yet and now I'm depressed. This is exactly why I should watch a drama I'm interested in only after it's completed.. arrrrgh!
Some people complained that the plots are full of holes. I sat there reading those comments thinking.. you have Kim Jae Wook and Jang Geun Suk in the same room so many times (and sometimes in the same bedroom) and you're complaining about plot holes? Are we even on the same page here?

I think this drama has taken what I've said about parents in my previous post and blown it up to gargantuan proportions. Imagine having 3 main characters with 3 parents who run around causing all sorts of mess and havoc in their children's lives with full expectation that the children will continue to honour and cherish their parenthood, be eternally grateful for the life that they've given however horrible it is, fulfill their unfinished dreams, treat them like gods, never complain or argue or say no to whatever disgusting commands they give out.... and I think this list is still not complete coz I've only watched up to ep 5 with sub. I wonder what other appalling proposals they still have in store for their adorable offspring.
I wonder if Koreans don't have such a high opinion of parents too...
Is it just my ears or has Jang Geun Suk gained more control of his voice? Maybe because I watched You're Beautiful and M3 close to each other, I noticed that his voice is much more interesting in M3... how should I say this... the songs are more skilfully delivered? Sono kanji de. Despite liking his "What Should I do?" and "Without A Word" songs, I don't have such a good feeling towards his voice.. so I was very surprised when I heard him sing "My Precious" in M3. And when I heard this song... what can I say... it's the song I love the most (so far) in the drama.
I'm staying far far away from this drama until all the episodes are completed and subtitled. What movie/drama should I watch next? Hmmm....

[Uploaded Drama] You're Beautiful - Jang Geun Suk
What have I been doing? You won't want to know. Work stuff.. bla bla bla.. meh
But I did manage to catch up on my k-movies (more on this later if I'm not too lazy to write about it) and k-drama. After I've finished hunting down all Gong Yoo's works, I'm onto Jang Geun Suk now. I heard of Beethoven Virus around the time I was crazy in love with Nodame Cantabile, so as much as I wanted to watch it.. I refrained coz I didn't want to clog my puny brain with too much classical whateva.
Then all those A.N.Jell clips cropped up on youtube. And since I hate to get into hyped up stuff, I just ignored it. Who cares about this Jang Geun Suk guy anyway? Pretty guys turn me off.. gah!
...heh, who am I kidding?

- He's too heavily made-up.. his face looks line-less like a mannequin. Why didn't he get the nickname "Walking Statue" like KHJ hyung-nim got in BOF?
- He looks short for a guy who stands at 182cm
- He walks with a hunch.. hmm, do all pretty guys walk with a hunch? Gackt always appears hunched.. Kim Jae Wook too. I wonder if it has anything to do with them trying to appear more manly. They can save all the trouble coz it doesn't work. They still look prettier than most female models I've seen on TV. Were I a guy, I agree with what Kim Jin Hyeok's friends said in Antique Bakery.. if I had to choose between ugly girls and someone as pretty as Min Seon Woo, I'd choose Min Seon Woo without hesitation. I wish my work place has its share of pretty guys too. It's like a desert there...

- He's younger than KHJ hyung-nim?? I thought he's older by at least 2 years. I wonder why I think that. It must have been all those intense stares Hwang Tae Kyung gives to everyone around him. Despite looking smaller than Shin Woo, he deserves to be called hyung-nim in that drama. Hwang Tae Kyung is charismatic like woah~
Anyway, in terms of story review.. it just affirms my belief that parents can really mess up the lives of their children. Seriously, if all they do is make their children's lives miserable, why did they give birth in the first place? Do they think that because they nearly died delivering us into this big bad world that none of us have a clue as to why we're to be brought into it in the first place.. we owe them our lives until the end of time?

Why is it that when it's the parents committing all sorts of unspeakable acts, the children must always forgive them.. but if it's the other way around, the children get kicked out of the house, disinherited, spoken of to everyone as if they're evil beings? That person who says how a parent's love is unconditional must have been an orphan... or a very forgetful person... or maybe he/she was just clueless about what 'unconditional' actually means.

I like Park Shin Hye's character, although I do think the whole set-up feels more like an anime than a live action. My favourite character has to be the Sachou.. JACKPOT!! (lol). I like the way Hwang Tae Kyung will call out "Go Mi Nam" in almost exactly the same tone no matter how urgent the matter that he wants to say is.. I thought it was really funny. I just love how Jang Geun Suk infused Hwang Tae Kyung with several unforgettable quirks that get under people's skin (well, mine anyway). He's brilliant.
Shin Woo reminds me of Yoon Ji Hoo. He even sings a song with a line.. "Because I'm a fool.." which reminds me immediately of "Because I'm Stupid". And I'm not the only who thinks these two characters are similar..
I didn't fall in love with Jang Geun Suk at first sight though.. a pre-requisite for a lifelong obsession. Hmmm, but it wasn't love at first sight with Gong Yoo either.. and I'm obsessed with the guy. Wait.. it was love at first listen with Gong Yoo's voice. That must count for something.
Anyway, here's a link to the drama for anyone who's interested to look it up. Sorry, can't embed it. The story is fun, and although the plot is riddled with cliches, everything is tied up so nicely that, by the time Hwang Tae Kyung sang that song for Go Mi Nyu in the last episode, I found myself thinking.. [Stage performance] Pole dancing definitely looks hot on men
All the women eyed him like a piece of meat they wanted to jump on and devour. I can totally relate.
...oh, I went to the shopping complex to find some new manga and ended up buying the "Biscuit Teacher & Star Candy" DVD from a Speedy Video outlet.. YEAY! It's currently out of stock at Yesasia, for those who want to know.
That's the only Gong Yoo drama I can't watch on the net coz the quality of the streaming video is so bad. I mean, the online clips are okay if you just want to watch the drama and don't care a jot about Gong Yoo. But for someone who wants to rewind his every scene at least 3 times just to stare at his hands, his face or any part of his body.. the bad video quality is really an inconvenience.
I also bought the "BOF Making Of" DVD for hubby. He was really happy with that purchase... (kekeke)

[Uploaded movie] Antique Bakery - Kim Jae Wook & Joo Ji Hoon
The yaoi treatment is getting the glorious place it deserves in this movie, a far cry from the shabby treatment given to it by its japanese counterpart. Trust the koreans to adapt a manga story faithfully. Why is it that they understand how a manga should be adapted better than the people from the country where the manga comes from? I feel this way about Hana Yori Dango (Boys Over Flowers) and Itazura na Kiss (Playful Kiss) as well. The korean adaptations are light years more interesting than the japanese ones.
Anyway, I think getting Andy Gillet to play Jean-Baptise Evan is such an acting coup. I looked up Andy Gillet on youtube. There're quite a few of his clips lying around. With his impossibly long eyebrows that stretch the length of his face and his hooded eyes that can haunt you every time he throws a look, he reminds me of Lee Williams. He's a model too. I doubt I'll be watching french movies any time soon coz I don't think I can be that obsessed with a european actor, but he's pretty cool.
I completely believe in the Seon Woo-Jean pairing, they look so natural together. Especially the scene with them in just their underwear *cough*. And every time they kiss, there's not even a hint of "we're just acting, get this take over with" in the way they respond to each other. Kim Jae Wook.. I'm hunting down all your works later. Do you know he's also in a band as vocal AND guitar? He plays the piano too btw..*ish besotted* ..I want to wait until Mary finishes before watching it coz I don't think I can follow it every week the way I followed Playful Kiss.. ^^;
And how good is Ji Hoon in the role of Jin Hyuk? He's so energetic and all over the place. I feel like watching the movie several times just to catch all his actions. I dunno why he's not been in more dramas and movies with that much talent. This is why, unlike other fans, I never complain about my favourite celebrities being workaholics and fainting everywhere. As much as I care about them, I want them to continue working so I can look up their never-ending supply of works anytime I want. I'm missing Gong Yoo so much now. I wish he'd be in more dramas. Maybe I should start re-watching Coffee Prince. And I want to buy Biscuit Teacher CD if I can find it in any store. The Veoh uploaded clips drive me nuts when they start jumbling up the scenes. It's a good thing that my brain is wired weirdly so I could still enjoy it.

If you've watched the japanese drama, don't think that it's anything like that. It's much more exciting and in fact made me want to look up all the works by its director, Min Gyu-Dong. I wish there would be a sequel so I can see Jin Hyuk being willingly molested by Seon Woo. I think Jin Hyuk is already head over heels in lust with Seon Woo but being a hetero, he needs to be "convinced" before he can accept his change in taste. I'm perfectly alright with heteros being turned to homos in fiction. In real life where we are held responsible for the consequences of our actions, it's another matter altogether.
I highly recommend it! If you haven't watched it already.. go and have a look ~~

He is set to make a two-day visit to Malaysia (as part of his Asia Tour) on Dec 4 and 5 and this will make it his third time visiting our country. What is it about Malaysia that hyung has been here so many times? Not that I'm complaining. Compare that to Gackt who doesn't even want to acknowledge places other than Taiwan, China, Hong Kong, European countries, and the US of A.. I'm ecstatic that at least one of my harem guys know we exist. Actually two.. coz Shah Rukh has been here many times too. I miss him. When is Ra-One coming out?
Who's going? I don't think I can be one of the lucky winners to get in and obtain his autograph but I do want to be in the same building as he is when he's visiting. Must scout the perimeter of this strange and unexplored area called the Pavillion.. get to know the entrances and exits, find out where he'll be holding court, etc. Must I do this alone? I wish I have a partner-in-crime. Dang. None of my friends is obsessed with Kim Hyun Joong enough to be a Stalkers UNITE! member alongside me.

The more I watch his dramas/movies.. the more dramas/movies of his I want to watch. As much as I love my other guys (Lee Jun Ki, Kang Dong Won, Tamaki Hiroshi and the list goes on), I usually only like some of the characters they play.. not all. Gong Yoo is the first actor whom I like in all the roles he has played no matter how small and brief and dialogue-less. The more I watch Gong Yoo on my screen, the more on-screen Gong Yoo I want to see.

What do I like the most about Gong Yoo? It's the responses he shows in front of the woman he loves. Well, not in real life since I know nothing about that. But on the screen. No matter what role he plays, no matter what the scene is about.. I always feel that the responses he's showing are how the character he plays would actually show if he were a real person instead of a fictional guy. Everything is so spot on. I melt.
And I love his hands. I think this is the first time I'm obsessed with a guy's hands. I rewind some scenes in some drama/movies several times just because the cameras were showing his hands. Hands.. fingers.. palms.. knuckles.. how can a macho-looking guy have such beautiful, feminine hands? They look fragile and precious.. as if he keeps them in gloves most of the times.
But I think what really drives me crazy is his voice. Maybe because I didn't expect that it can move me. How can a guy move me with his on-screen performances AND move me with his singing voice EVERY TIME?? It's simply unthinkable.. until I heard him sing. Have you heard him sing? People who've been complaining about Gong Yoo.. that actors should just leave singing to singers.. must have not heard him sing before. Want a sample? I take back my words. After finishing all his movies and a 16-ep drama in 3 days, I can't lie and say I still don't find him attractive. Especially after watching him walking around like that on my monitor at about 1am this morning...
Sue me for being shallow.. but hey, Gong Yoo said this kind of body is his way of "showing courtesy to the viewers". Emmm... so I'm a viewer... hehe.
Fresh out of the army, he needs to work hard at getting his muscles again. But staring at him slinking around the furniture in one scene after another, I've decided that his is my ideal body type.
Anyway. Excuses, excuses. To heck with excuses. Gong Yoo is Gong Yoo. I would stare unblinkingly at the screen anytime he appears in whatever role he's playing.. ideal body type or no.
I've been up until the wee hours of the morning for 2 days straight to finish that drama. And that beach scene is like a thank you note to me for sticking with it to the end. The story is similar to a lot of family dramas I've watched before, but Seo Gun is a guy so full of contradictions that he manages to keep me interested in the cliched plot.
I really love the way Gong Yoo assays his characters. I feel empathy for every one of them. Even his very brief cameo in Mr. GAM is magnetic.

I can't find many interviews of him on youtube. These are the only subbed ones I can find. I still find his face startlingly disturbing in a rather fascinating sorta way. It's a face that can be used to fit any role, really. But to tell you the truth.. I like it best when it's showing cute and lovable expressions.. ♥

[Uploaded Movie] Ryu Ga Gotoku (Yakuza) - Gong Yoo Cut
Good luck trying to understand Korean by reading Japanese characters.. ha! Ish like trying to understand Latin by reading hieroglyphics. I did get some of the hiragana, katakana and very VERY simple kanji deciphered though. Wish it's subbed in English instead.. *pouts*
Didn't I say someone out there really love Gong Yoo? I couldn't find the movie on youtube, but I found his cut. Since I only want to see him in it, I guess it has to be enough for me. I can't be bothered to find and download the whole thing coz I hate mafia movies.

Was thinking perhaps he'd have some fight scenes in it, like he did in "She's On Duty".. but no luck. He's a sniper.. an assassin role, then? I think he deliberately made Park Chul moves in a kinda slow-mo movements to emphasize his deadly character. And it worked.. for me, at least. When Park Chul is mixing the drinks at the bar, I half-expected him to suddenly brandish an automatic and shoot everyone there.. eeeep.

He was only a cameo in this movie, but since I was watching it because of him.. I'm putting his name up there.. ha! Any complaints? Take em' to the bridge ~~~~
It started out simple enough, just another sports movie. To tell the truth, I hate sports movies. They get romanticized so much. I have no idea why a ball, any ball, gets idolized to the point of frenzy. But seeing that I was screaming encouragements to Mr. GAM and his team by the end of their game to the OB Bears with no regard whatsoever for my poor neighbours.. there must be something to all the craziness after all.
I'm not into team games, heck.. I'm not into games period. I can't bear to win, and I hate to lose. What does that tell you about me? It tells you squat, that's what it does. But when I support a team, I will give absolute loyalty. As long as they give me a good spirited game, winning or losing.. I will still cheer for them to the end. (YOU HEAR THAT KOLKATA KNIGHT RIDERS??? Grrrrrr... should I still put my faith in you come next year?? *sulks*)
Somehow, Gong Yoo looks the most handsome to me in this movie.. despite not having a dialogue, despite appearing so briefly, despite being a rival to the main character.. he just draws people in, doesn't he? Gong Yoo.. I'm sure your fans missed you so much during your 2-year army stint. Can I now be your fan too? I'm sure glad I entered your universe the year after you were released from your military duty so I don't have to wait so long. Daebak! (you're out here and Jun Ki's in there.. ish like you guys changed place or something.. o wellz)
I wish I can find something in my life I want to fight that hard for. I was such a coward for letting elders run my life.. but I'm growing older too year by year. I've got myself in a situation I can't get out of at the moment, but once I'm out.. I think I should start planning. At this stage of my life, is it too late? My grandma was already dead when she was a year younger than I am now. Somehow, that sorta thing puts life in perspective for ya.. doesn't it?
Aaaaaaaaa... am I supposed to feel accomplished now that I've finished all Gong Yoo's movies in one day, when I should have been studying my butts off? O wait.. except for Ryu Ga Gotoku coz I still can't find that one. Japan and its stingy copyright regulations.. gah! Anyway, all that's left now are his dramas.. LOL.

I can't believe I've been watching Gong Yoo since this morning. One more movie and that's his complete filmography (movies) I've been devouring today. And they're all available on Youtube. Someone out there must really love this guy.. it's like a concerted effort to get his work out to the public.. or something.
Despite being one of the 3 important male roles, I think his is the most colourful one.. and the cutest (although I think the priest guy is cute too..hehe). Of course it helps that his character is also the youngest and therefore the most boisterous and playful.
What happens to the 4th guy, huh? He's let off the hook just coz he's the one urging her to look up her previous lovers? Watching the movie, I first thought her lovers were all bastards.. but the scene before the credit roll changed my mind.
I guess what makes love the most explored subject in arts and literature is its subjective nature. From a different point of view, it shows us a different face.. like a kaleidoscope, ever changing and amazingly mesmerizing whichever way it turns.
For me, I've always thought love is overrated in the movies. As if the majority of us humans can't live without having lovers/significant others waiting for us at home when we get off work or whatever it is we do every day. Love can't put food on the table. Love can't save you when you're about to get fired. Love can't give you direction when you're lost in the middle of a forest on a moonless night.
But love sure makes a hard life seem more tolerable.. and even fun. Most times, anyway.
Despite the snog fest that has Gong Yoo plastered all over the studio room (yeay~), the moment when I thought.. "Woah, sekshii da! Omo, why do I suddenly think he's sexy??" ..was actually the scene with him dancing in the club wearing (what looks like) a white (cotton?) vest with his (cardigan? sweater?) jacket off one shoulder.

Reading about hyung singing in the coming Asian Games made me go look up Gackt's Kimi Gayo clip again for the umpteenth time. And I found that he sang at another event!
Oh, why do I bother fighting this lingering attraction when I'm still squealing at the sight of Gackt in glasses singing his national anthem in the middle of a boxing ring. He's so random. How can I not continue to be obsessed?
This sudden spate of Gackt-clip sighting (after abandoning him for nearly 2 years.. sorry Gackt-sama.. o yeah, and I'm totally not gonna type your name in capitals.. so there!) must have been spurred by the news that these two guys are going to be on the same stage together at the end of this year. That's still confirmed, right? No one is pulling out at the last minute or anything, right?
I hope those two get interviewed together so we can judge who's the King of 4D between them (me ish betting on Gaku.. LOL)

I didn't know that the Korean under 17 girls soccer team won the recent world cup (what world cup?? was there a world cup going on while I was busy surfing k-dramas on streaming sites?) ...aaaaa, how can he with his busy schedule know more about what's happening in the world around him than I do? I have no idea what's happening in Malaysia right now.. we're having this small election (where?) and several states are involved with big floods (Kedah and Perlis only, right?)... aaaaaaaand that's the extent of my general knowledge about the world around me.

Another random thought I had when I read this was.. "How can 2 very different people be so similar in certain things.. and both I like with a high degree of intensity?". I'm talking about Shah Rukh, of course.. with all his talks about how India should put more effort in sports other than cricket and his waxing soliloquy on the women's hockey team achievements. I love these guys to bits and pieces.
Is hyung really only 24 years old? He always gives off the feeling (to me, anyway) that he's at least 20 years older than I am.. there were many instances when I watched his interviews and thought, "Gyaaa.. hyung is such an oji-san!" LOL. He's very different from guys his age who're in his profession, isn't he?
I guess the people who answered the survey of 'Why Kim Hyun Joong is Popular' in this article are mostly guys.. coz they're so focused on his good looks. I find that the guys are more obsessed with hyung's beauty than the girls... look up previous talk shows that he participated in because the ones raving about his beauty were mostly the male hosts.. haha
They're alienating people like me who can't obsess over pretty boys if they're just vacant mannequins out for display by their agencies. Hyung may not be the singer with the best voice in SS501.. he may not be the best actor in the below 25-year old category.. he may not have the best figure in the modeling world.. but his entire package makes him shine far brighter than those who surpass him in each of those areas. Singer turned actor, Kim Hyun-joong recently helped make a generous donation towards the women's sport of soccer. Kim helped organize a donation made with the profits earned from the final fan event for the drama "Naughty Kiss", that was held at the Dome Art Hall at the Children's Grand Park in Seoul on October 21st.
Kim had said he wanted to support women's soccer in Korean high schools by giving all of the money collected for entry at the event. In addition to the profits, he also teamed up with Adidas which donated 23 million won worth of soccer gear.
The young star's entertainment agency, KeyEast Entertainment announced the news on Kim's official website, "Kim Hyun-joong is personally a big fan of soccer and was cheering for the country's under 17 girls soccer team which won the recent world cup. He was thinking of ways to support women's soccer and so got the idea to support young aspiring female soccer players who aren't giving up on their dreams despite difficult situations or hardships. He was the one who suggested the donation idea".

On November 3rd, a spokesperson from KeyEast Entertainment revealed that Kim Hyun Joong was invited to sing for the ‘Guangzhou 2010 Asian Games‘ opening ceremonies. He was also bestowed the honor to be Korea’s representative.
The KeyEast Entertainment rep stated, “On November 12th, Kim Hyun Joong will sing the ‘Guangzhou 2010 Asian Games‘ official theme song, “Sunshine Again” at the opening ceremony as Korea’s representative.”
Reportedly, an official with the ‘Asian Games Organization Committee’ sent a formal invitation to Kim Hyun Joong, asking if he could lend his vocals for “Sunshine Again” near the end of September. At the time, Kim Hyun Joong was occupied with filming “Playful Kiss“; however, as soon as the series wrapped up, he departed for Beijing in secret to prepare for the opening ceremony.
Director Park Sung Jin, who extended the invitation, stated, “The council desired to host a creative and high-quality ceremony; they invited Kim Hyun Joong due to his continental fame in Asia. He will take the stage with 4 representative singers from China before the climatic torch lighting ceremony, signifying harmony between the different Asian nations.”

Listening to "One More Time" in the PK OST CD I just got and comparing it to this clip (and other SS501 songs), I think hyung's voice has become more mature and tender. My feeling about his voice is he's become more "yasashi" and confident, less hurried, more content with his ability.. something like that.. (hehe)

[Uploaded movie] She's On Duty - Gong Yoo
This was the movie I was watching when I should be doing my school work.. meh. I'm bad at following deadlines.
Gong Yoo is not my type (i.e. I don't feel like looking up his interview,talk show,non-movie/drama-related clips) and yet watching him act makes me go all gooey inside. What is this reaction? The guy is dangerous. He's gonna make me hunt down all his old works. What am I saying? I'm already doing that... *facepalm*

I'm quite peeved that they cut out a key scene from the movie. It's that kiss scene on the stairs. What? A kiss scene is not a key scene? When it comes to Gong Yoo, every scene becomes a key scene.. ok. Well, at least we got a preview of it in that fanvideo I pasted in this blog earlier. *ish still sulking*

It's the Woo Chi guy!
Why is it that the guys I like all go to the army the moment I want to follow more of their current works??
Anyway, have a look at this trailer. After Woo Chi, I have absolute faith that Kang Dong-won will not do a movie if the script is not a fun one and this one looks like fun overload.. exploding glass, a school of fish dancing to his will, mass of zombie-like people ready to do his bidding at the drop of a hat.. can't wait to watch it!
And what's this?? It appears that another of his movie was released after Woo Chi and I didn't know anything about it! Wonder if the DVD's already out. I hate watching movies in a cinema.. feel so suffocated and restrained to watch a movie that has someone I like while perching on a strange sofa surrounded by strangers. I can't shout, pause, rewind, dance, curse, eat instant ramen, etc. during the viewing. Dem frustrating. Would rather wait for the DVD even though that usually takes awhile.

I gotta find the rest of his dramas/movies/whateva... *blink blink*
He's in a new movie.. yeay! Strangely, I don't feel anything watching him on screen.. but I love his acting. He just gets everything spot on and he's always in character even while he's busy sucking someone's face off.. :P
Can't wait to watch his newest work! *happy*

I may have crushed on Kim Hyun Joong-hyung from his portrayal of Yun Ji Hoo in Boys Over Flowers, but I fell in love with him in We Got Married. Until now, whenever I watch the WGM clips I still think.. wow, what a catch... *sigh*
What made me watch WGM MV clips so early in the morning? That special PK Youtube episode of course. Hyung in the role of a husband is so jjang! ♥♥♥
Oh, and please don't embed the special episodes in your blogs.. direct the traffic to the official Youtube site so they'll get more viewers.. ok? :)

P/S: Dreamt of chatting with SS501 at the lobby of a hotel last night. Was really surprised. Never thought I'd dream about them. But of course everybody else was a blur except for hyung-chama.. LOL. Gomen ne, SS501 no memba. Even in a dream, he looks really gorgeous..

[Preview] Playful Kiss / Mischievous Kiss Youtube Special Edition
... will be aired tomorrow at 7pm (YEAY!!!)
So happy to be able to see this couple again. And from what I read, we'll be seeing some promo activities from them next year. Looking forward to that too ~~~~
...hyung, what do you mean there'll be steamier scenes in the youtube special episodes? Are you trying to make us over-anticipate them??
Does this mean there'll be no more umbrella, partition, or car blocking our view? We're all getting 1st-row seats this time?
